- Sexually Transmitted Infections

- A sexually transmitted infection (STI) is caused by an organism (bacteria, virus, or parasite) that can be passed from one person to another during sex or intimate contact. Most STIs are passed (or transmitted) between sexual partners through unprotected oral, vaginal (frontal) or anal sex.

- A sore throat is pain, scratchiness or irritation of the throat that often worsens when you swallow. The most common cause of a sore throat (pharyngitis) is a viral infection, such as a cold or the flu.
